IRI Appoints Eva Vila as New Manager Director in Spain
MADRID, SPAIN – 12 January 2010 – Information Resources Inc. (IRI), the leading global provider of consumer, shopper and market insights for the consumer packaged goods, retail, and healthcare industries, today announced the appointment of Eva Vila Massanas as their new Managing Director in Spain.
Vila brings over fifteen years of international experience in FMCG insights and consulting services to the role. Previously she was IRI’s European Marketing Director following a series of senior client service and development roles.
Angelo Massaro, who was leading both the Spanish and Italian markets, will now be focussing exclusively on the further development of IRI’s Italian business.
Commenting on the appointment, Nigel Howlett, President of IRI International, said, “I am delighted to offer to Eva the opportunity to lead our Spanish operation. With broad market experience and a passion for innovation and excellent client service, Eva will play a vital role in driving the transformational development of IRI Spain. This promotion also enables Angelo to drive our next phase of development in Italy where we are already market leaders”.
Vila started her career in the US financial services industry. She then joined Coca-Cola’s German marketing department where she worked for four years in the market research area. In 1999 she returned to Spain to join the newly-created IRI operation as a member of the start-up team, since when she has held various positions spanning Client Service, Product Marketing and Communication. In 2007 she was promoted to Southern Europe Marketing Director and became European Marketing Director later that year.
Vila holds an Economics Degree from the University of Barcelona and a BA from DePauw University in Indiana, US. She is a regular marketing lecturer at several Spanish Universities and regularly leads “thought leadership” seminars for many of Spain’s leading Consumer Goods Marketers and business school academics.
