  • Course: Introduction to InfoScan® Measures
    Description:
    What is a measure? How do measures quantify sales performance? How are measures calculated? These questions and more are answered in this course which examines core measures that are part of IRI InfoScan databases. You'll examine four measure families (distribution, volumetric, pricing and merchandising) and discover how each category provides insight on product performance. You'll also learn how to interpret the core measures that are part of each category. Upon completion of this course, you'll understand the origin of each measure by examining the way in which measures are calculated. You'll also be able to answer the question, "How is my product performing?" based on the insight measures provide.

  • Course: IRI Consumer Network: Introduction to Panel
    Description:
    What is panel data? How does panel data differ from point of sale data? What questions do panel data answer? These questions and more are answered in this course that explores IRI's Consumer Network and the insight panel data provides for product performance. You'll discover how and why panel data is an essential compliment to point of sale data by identifying the consumers who purchase products and why they are buying. There is also an examination of panel weighting and panel validation. You'll see how panel measures help quantify sales. You'll also explore panel methodology and interpretation of a panel analysis.

  • Course: Using InfoScan® Measures to Tell the Sales Story
    Description:
    If sales for the category are up, why are sales for my product down? What impact does merchandising and distribution have on sales? How does the price for our product compare with the competition? A strategy for answering these questions and more are presented in this course. Using the SymphonyIRI Group sales equation, you'll discover how to create a top-line analysis for product performance. Starting with sales or share, you'll follow the path that leads to discovering the "story" behind growth or decline.
